Hello there! Welcome to Found By Bosshunter. I'm the creator of this site, and I wanted to share a bit about why this project exists and what it means to me.
The Origin: Bosshunter Guild
The name comes from a MapleStory guild I led on the Bera server. I joined in 8th grade and stayed active through junior year of high school. Honestly, that guild was my escape. I was majorly depressed during those years, and Bosshunter gave me a community, a purpose, and something to grind toward when real life felt overwhelming.
My older cousin got me into the game. When he stepped back, he passed the guild leadership to me. Leading that group of players taught me about community, consistency, and showing up even when things get hard. That spirit stuck with me.
What "Bosshunting" Means to Me
In the game, bosshunting meant tracking down the toughest enemies with your squad. In real life, I see it differently: it's about finding people with that boss mindset—unwavering, always yearning for growth and development. People who don't settle. People who inspire you to level up just by being around them (or in this case, reading about them).
Why I Built This
Shine light on underrated people
I wanted a way to nominate and showcase individuals who aren't always in the public eye but deserve recognition.
Build a filterable database
I wanted a clean way to browse people by industry, background, net worth, and other categories—so you can find the stories that resonate with you.
Create a personal archive
This is a place I can look back on and see who I've surrounded myself with virtually. When I eventually make it in the real world, I want to remember the pieces I took from each of these people along the way.
A Bit About Me
I'm a recent Computer Science grad (B.S. with a minor in Cybersecurity). Like a lot of new grads, I've struggled to land a SWE position—turns out LeetCode isn't my strong suit. But I don't let that stop me from building. I vibe code on my days off, stay busy, and keep creating things that matter to me. This is one of those things.
Where This Is Going
My vision is a massive database of people, showcased in the best way possible. I want nominations to flow in so I can discover people who might impact my life in ways I never would've known otherwise. The more this grows, the more value it provides—not just to me, but to anyone else on their own bosshunting journey.
